Learn to Row
Learn to Row in traditional Thames skiffs
We’re always keen to welcome new members to the Club, whether or not you have any experience on the water.
Improve your fitness in beautiful surroundings. Skiffing (fixed seat rowing) is an active Thames based, low cost sport, suited to all ages and abilities. Skiffs are fast yet stable, an ideal boat to learn to row in.
It’s up to you whether you want to race, just paddle recreationally on the Thames, or participate in events further afield, such as the Great River Race or the club meander from Lechlade to Teddington.
If you want to row once a week or more frequently, you’ll find other members with similar interests in our club.
Contact us for further information and we will introduce you to our club and skiffing with instruction being provided by experienced club members. After that, if you decide you’d like to continue fixed seat rowing then you have the option of joining our club.
Rowing in Skiffs can be relaxed or competitive whatever you choose. Not Sure; then give it a try: 3-free 1 hour sessions should help you decide.
